Yearly exported tonnage exceeded approx. 1000 tons and imports have risen in 1992 after the slow down during the Gulf war. Airfreight assumes an important role in the U.A.E. trade due to considerable imports by air offering outward freight at competitive rate on backhand leading to large movement of sea / air cargoes from Far East and Indian sub-continent to Europe, North and Latin America. Maltrans was agent of WACO in the U.A.E. till 1996.
